What to think about before you have BT injections

If your thinking about having wrinkle relaxing injections the first thing you need to do is to make sure that the person you choose to carry out your treatment is qualified and experienced.  Here at Fusion we have 11 years experience and are all registered medical practitioners.  You should always ask the following questions when meeting your practitioner, ask about:

their training, qualifications and experience

the name of the product being used, if its licensed, where it has come from, how and where it was made.

any risks or side effects, ensure they are explained

what happens if things go wrong

what insurance cover do they have

do they carry a full recovery/first aid kit and defibrillator

When you cannot have BT injections

In certain circumstances these type of treatments are not recommended, these include:

If you have a skin infection

you are unwell in anyway

you have any sort of neuromuscular condition

you are taking certain medications

you are pregnant or breastfeeding

When you arrive for your treatment your face will be cleaned and photographs taken, this ensures we are able to check your before and after results.  Your face will then be marked out and we will explain how the treatment works, you will then receive the injections.  These are carried using a very small needle and a 1ml syringe, the product is then injected into the muscles groups required.  You will be asked to move the muscles of your face to fins the best place for the injections.

This will normally take approx 10mins.

Afterwards you may see small red bumps where the product has been injected, these take about 20 mins to go down.  You will not see any results for 4-14 days, this is the amount of time it takes for the toxin to work on the nerves.  You will be given an aftercare advise sheet and a 2 week post treatment appointment will be made if needed.

There are risks with these treatments, these could  include:

A headache with flu like symptoms for 24 hours

Bruising, swelling and redness from the needle

A frozen look- unable to move the muscles in your face

Temporary weakness to facial muscles, drooping eyelids or eyebrows.

All of these are temporary and will disappear after a few days/ weeks

All these things need to be taken into consideration when considering this treatment, you are having a medical treatment for a cosmetic reason so please think about it and ask as many questions as you need to, its important to us that you fully understand the treatment process and are comfortable with what will happen.
